February 3, 2019 - Rock Sound

February 3, 2019
Very narrow channel going out
8:00am- Steve had to pump out all the water from the rain from the dinghy.Anchor up and off we go to Rock Sound which is approximately 33 miles.  Steve is hoping to find  a place to watch the Super Bowl tonight
Pumping water from dinghy

We arrived in Rock Point around 1pm.  On our way here, Steve caught a nice size cero Mackerel.  No hot dogs tonight.
 Cero Mackerel for dinner

We noticed Brad and Julia from London showed up in their boat and so did another couple, Rick & Sharon from Lancaster which we met on our way to the dock.

Enjoying our fish dinner
We needed to get bread and yogurt however most stores are closed on Sunday.  A kind woman, Rose, picked us up and took us to all the local stores looking for bread.  It was hilarious because we ended in Tarpon Bay which was about 10 miles from our boat.  She gave us a tour and knew everyone.  She stopped at every roadside verdure along the way  to see what they had. She bought what you call Sugar Apples.  They looked like artichokes.  She said they were very sweet.  While she was driving, she had her gospel music blaring where Steve had a hard time hearing what she was saying.  Too funny.
Steve is a happy man.  He found a bar to watch the Super bowl. We watch it with Brad & Julia Pilon from s/v Alizzarin and Rick and Sharon Bobzener from s/v Orkan.at the Frigate's Bar & Grill.
I managed to Facetime my daughters since they had great wifi.
